Claridge’s Christmas Tree 2024 by Paul Smith
A special edition of Off-Cut Creatures
For Claridge’s 2024 Christmas tree, legendary British designer Sir Paul Smith was invited to create a festive centerpiece that reflects his unmistakable style—playful, nostalgic, and full of character. As part of his vision, Paul invited Studiomama to collaborate on the installation, bringing their unique approach to material reuse and storytelling to the heart of this cherished annual tradition.

A magical holiday installation
At the base of the striking 20-foot fir—set within a Paul Smith signature-striped barrel—Studiomama made a special edition of their much-loved Off-Cut Creatures: a collection of wooden animals crafted from repurposed workshop off-cuts. Each creature was created to feel both imaginative and hand-crafted, grounding the tree in a spirit of creativity, warmth, and sustainable design.
The collaboration blended Paul Smith’s joyful reinterpretation of British eccentricity with Studiomama’s hands-on, narrative-driven approach — resulting in a truly magical holiday installation that celebrates the beauty of found materials, festive storytelling, and the power of creative partnerships.
