Studiomama is showing as part of TEN, a group of ten designers who collaborate once a year to explore sustainable and intelligent solutions to design. A national tour of the exhibition is being supported by the Crafts Council, shown first at the William Morris Gallery.
The Private View at the William Morris Gallery, Walthamstow is 29th January, from
7-9pm. The exhibition will open to the public on the 30th January 2009.

Habitat will be launching the 1X1 range called Jazmine in Spring/Summer 2009. Made in oak, the series comprises a floor standing lamp, table and pendant lamp as well as two forms of trestles.

Recently completed interior design project Free Standing Double Kids Room, designed with recycled doors. The two rooms are connected with a sliding door and incorporates built in desks, shelving and beds. Many of the doors can open to reveal an open and playful structure. The structure can be easily dismantled and recycled again.

In connection with the Design festival Habitat is hosting an exhibition at there Regent Street store. The Jazmine table by Studiomama will be exhibited alongside other products that have been selected by Habitat’s creative director Theo Williams.

Studiomama is also showing a utility lamp with Re-Design also at 100% design. Inspired by traditional hanging work lamps, the minimal form of this utility lamp with low energy bulb enables multiple functions. Standing upright on the solid wooden base (made from FSC certified pine) it becomes a table lamp. The handle allows it to be hung from a hook as a wall lamp with the light directed up, forwards or down. Suspended from the cable it becomes a pendant lamp, with the handle suggesting the outline of a lampshade.

Studiomama at 100% design. Ten is this year showing in collaboration with the Craft Council and Twentytwentyone. The show is called WOOD and studiomama are showing a bird frame. We are increasing losing touch with nature as the cities relentlessly expand. We rarely seem to catch sight of the little wildlife that we coexist with. The idea for 'frame' bird feeder was to create a product which encourages interaction and serves to capture a moment. H240mm X W240mm X D40mm.

Media launch of the shortlisted London On Tap carafe designs is Monday the 15th of September. The designs will be on display as part of the London Design Festival and will be on public view until Saturday 27th September at City Hall, London SE1 2AA

The water tower carafe and the connected pipe carafe by Studiomama have been short-listed for the London On Tap design competition. The London On Tap campaign is a unique collaboration between the UK’s biggest water company, Thames Water, and the Mayor of London. It is a competition to design an iconic carafe, which will be used to serve tap water in restaurants, bars and hotels throughout the capital. Thames Water Chief Executive David Owens says: “Our water is 500 times cheaper than bottled water, and is kinder to the environment, emitting 300 times less CO2 to process than bottled alternatives. Tap water is not only good for you, it’s good for London and kinder to the planet.”
